At Bit of a Stretch, we believe that healthy ageing requires a holistic approach that encompasses the mind, body, and spirit. We actively promote the benefits of physical activity and fitness over 50, social interaction and reducing stress through creative pursuits.
Karen has been teaching mat Pilates exercise with small apparatus for over 15 years. Her classes are informative and fun and are suitable for anyone who wants to keep moving and stay fit as they age. As she creeps ever closer to 60, Karen fully embraces the challenges faced by the ageing process and teaches from a place of personal experience and understanding. Karen comes from a nursing background and is currently working as a Lifestyle Officer, enriching the lives of residents in aged care.

Pilates is an ideal exercise for the over 50's. The exercises are low impact and incorporate stretching, mindful breathing, balance and weight bearing. Pilates mat classes can be tailored to suit all abilities and ages and the exercises can be performed on a mat or seated in a chair, in a hall or outdoors in nature. No knowledge of Pilates is necessary and Karen ensures that every class is enjoyable so that her clients return week after week, year after year.
